Partners for the future
Strong partnerships
are key to the transition
Ken Wesnæs, CEO, CarbonCuts
CCS is more than a technical exercise – it’s a collaborative project across sectors, interests and value chains. Making CCS a real climate solution requires strong partnerships. That’s why we actively collaborate with emitters, investors, technology providers and local communities – to build a value chain that works in reality.”
Partner with CarbonCuts
CarbonCuts is a leading player in CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) – an internationally recognised and growing climate technology. There is great complexity and new challenges associated with establishing a completely new type of value chain that CCS requires. A value chain that has many different actors and interests. This requires close collaboration and the establishment of new partnerships across the chain. A strong value chain is essential to realising large scale CO₂ storage.
- Our approach to partnerships
As a pioneer in onshore CCS, we take a curious, entrepreneurial and professional approach to planning, developing and operating CCS projects. We work closely with experts in both the energy and geotechnical sectors. Our team has decades of combined experience with complex underground projects at home and abroad. - Growth through strong partnerships
The growing need for carbon storage and the political prioritisation of CCS is driving the development of a new value chain that requires innovation, capital and collaboration. We partner with key players across the CCS ecosystem, such as:
– Emitters – such as industry players and energy companies looking to reduce CO₂
– Infrastructure and technology providers with specialized solutions
– Investors who see potential in a developing and growing CCS sector
– Local stakeholders and suppliers - Investing in CCS – a long-term opportunity
CCS technology is regulatory backed. This focus is increasingly creating a stable framework for commercial initiatives. We are committed to participating in the development of a robust and sustainable CCS value chain – both economically and climate-wise. - Sustainability and more local development
We actively contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting the green transition. At the same time, we want to create local growth through our projects. Project Ruby on Lolland is a concrete example of our commitment to both climate action and local development.
About the
Ruby Project

A milestone in carbon storage
The Ruby Project could be a milestone for Denmark when it comes to onshore CO2 storage. Using advanced technology, the project, if realised, will store millions of tonnes of captured CO2 safely deep underground, helping to achieve national and global climate goals.s.
Nordsøfonden participates on behalf of the Danish state in all Danish CO2 licences. They participate in Project Ruby with 20 per cent and is a partner in all key decisions.
Our strong partnerships – both current and potential future partners – ensure project robustness and continued innovation. Project Ruby has an expected annual storage capacity of 1.5 million tons of CO2 from 2030.
Take part in responsible
CO2 management
Responsible carbon management is a shared responsibility. Working with many different players in the CCS value chain, we focus on ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility. This is key to developing sustainable and responsible solutions.
Join us in our efforts to create a future of safe and permanent CO₂ storage. When you partner with CarbonCuts you get:
- Access to a growing industry with great potential
- Opportunities to participate in innovative and complex projects like the Ruby Project
- A partner that puts safety, reliability and sustainability first
Strong owner and partner in the back
CarbonCuts´ ambition to realise sustainable CO₂ storage projects is made possible by our owner, BlueNord. As a partner in the Danish Underground Consortium (DUC), BlueNord brings financial, strategic, and operational strength to CarbonCuts.
BlueNord’s commitment to and expert knowledge of the Danish subsurface and energy sector is a crucial driver – both in the continued development of a robust CCS value chain, but also in future projects within CO₂ management.

“We are proud of CarbonCuts’ capabilities and progress. The exploration license is the first major milestone in the realisation of Project Ruby Project, which will contribute to both Denmark’s CO2 storage ambitions and climate action in general. We look forward to supporting CarbonCuts’ ambition to develop and implement Ruby as an important part of BlueNord’s green transition strategy.”
