CarbonCuts is looking for an experienced communications consultant (part-time/freelance) on Lolland

Do you live on Lolland, are you passionate about the green transition and want to contribute your communication skills to an exciting pioneer project within onshore CO2 storage? Then read on here.

CarbonCuts is now looking for an independent and experienced part-time communications resource to assist us locally on Lolland with a wide range of communication and stakeholder activities.

About us: CarbonCuts is working to establish Project Ruby, a land-based CO2 storage facility in the Rødby area by 2030. We have been working for two years and in January we applied to the authorities for an exploration license, which we are awaiting the Danish Energy Agency’s decision on. CarbonCuts is owned by the BlueNord Group – we have our own office in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark. As Project Ruby progresses, we will be more present in the Rødby area. You will be working broadly with our team to make our vision of a greener future a reality. Already in the winter of 2024/25, we are planning geological surveys of the Rødby structure.

An important part of Denmark’s climate strategy
Denmark has chosen CO2 storage as a key technology to help meet Denmark’s climate goals by storing captured CO2 from industry permanently in the Danish underground. The Rødby geological structure has been selected by the state geologists from GEUS as one of the five onshore structures particularly suitable for CO2 storage.

Your tasks will mainly center on:

  • Plan and execute communication and stakeholder initiatives in close collaboration with our Head of Communications- & External Relations and other colleagues.
  • Assist in planning and conducting dialog meetings with stakeholders, landowners and citizens.
  • Assist in preparing information and dialog material, press material, flyers, videos, presentation material and SoMe activities

We are looking for a profile that:

  • Is passionate about the green transition and wants to work with new climate technology. Experience from the energy or clean-tech industry is an advantage.
  • Independent, efficient and outgoing with the ability to communicate clearly with/to all types of stakeholders.
  • Has a strong communication profile, can make the complex simple and interesting, and is able to translate words into action and vice versa.
  • Can drive initiatives independently – but in close coordination with the head office in Lyngby.
  • Ideally runs their own consultancy or wants a part-time job – and has a background as a journalist, communications consultant, or similar.
  • Reports to the Head of Communications & External Relations via the head office in Lyngby.
  • Have a strong local network in the Lolland area; ideally living locally.

What we offer:
A unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious and long-term project that plays a central role in Denmark’s climate action. You will have the chance to contribute your expertise to an area of great societal importance while working in a dynamic and committed team. All this on a part-time basis, giving you flexibility in your workday.
