Ken Wesnæs
Managing Director

Ken is the CEO and founder of CarbonCuts. With over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, he brings strong leadership skills and extensive project management experience. Ken has led international and multidisciplinary teams in the maturation and development of multimillion-dollar projects in the offshore oil and gas industry. Throughout his career, Ken has worked for BlueNord, Shell, Hess and Ørsted/DONG. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
Jesper Meyer
Head of Business Development
CarbonCuts A/S
Jesper has been involved from the start and leads the business development efforts. His primary responsibilities are understanding, analyzing and solving challenges in the carbon capture and storage value chain and exploring market opportunities for CO2 removal. Jesper holds an MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Copenhagen. Prior to joining CarbonCuts, he worked with education, management and development at Fonden Mosen, founded his own company, TrailFox, and also has a four-year career in the Navy behind him.
Hemanth Kumar Mantri
Finance and Commercial Lead
Hemanth is Commercial and Finance Lead at CarbonCuts with over 18 years of experience in the energy sector. He has a broad background in commercial, financial and technical disciplines and has contributed to projects in Denmark, India, Poland, Netherlands and Singapore. Hemanth has worked on decarbonization, CCS, upstream gas and energy transition. At Shell, he worked with global LNG customers and stakeholders on sustainable solutions, focusing on carbon storage value chains and emerging technologies such as hydrogen and e-fuels.
Anders Bille Jensen
Head of Corporate Strategy and Governance

Anders is Head of Corporate Strategy and Governance and part of the management team. He has extensive experience in strategy development and implementation at the intersection of business development, finance and organization. He holds a PhD in business models and has worked as a manager, entrepreneur and consultant. In recent years, Anders has assisted several internationally oriented high-growth companies. He initially worked as a consultant for CarbonCuts A/S before joining as a full-time employee in early 2024.
Vibeke Nilsson Levi
HSEQ and Regulatory Manager

Vibeke is HSEQ and Regulatory Manager at BlueNord Group and is responsible for ensuring compliance and handling of relevant regulatory applications and permits for CarbonCuts’ Ruby CCS project. Based in Copenhagen, she has over 16 years of experience in the Danish energy sector, primarily within oil, gas and geothermal energy, where she has worked for the Danish Energy Agency, Nordsøfonden and BlueNord. Vibeke holds an MSc from DTU, Copenhagen, and has held various roles within production, development and HSE.
Susanne Tolstrup

Susanne is responsible for communications and external relations. With over 20 years of experience, she has held international leadership roles in communications and public affairs at Telia, Shell, Better Place and E.ON. In 2017, Susanne founded Comm-Unity ApS, from where she has advised companies such as Ørsted, TotalEnergies and startups. Since 2020, she has participated in research on social acceptance of CCS in her postgraduate studies in Sustainable Business at the University of Cambridge and via DTU Management (Bifrost). She holds an M.A. in languages/int. Relationships.
Kenneth Prehn

Kenneth is a journalist and communicator based in Lolland-Falster. He has more than 30 years of experience in the media and communications industry. Throughout his career, Kenneth has held roles as journalist, reporter, editorial secretary, editorial manager and communicator for organizations such as Lolland-Falster Folketidende, Danmarks Radio, Kommunernes Landsforening, Lolland Kommune, REFA I/S and PR Kommunikation. He holds a diploma in communication from the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
Charlotte Laurentzius
Exploration Manager

Charlotte Laurentzius is Exploration Manager at CarbonCuts and part of the management team. With almost 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, she has held leading roles in subsurface operations, development and exploration. Over the years, Charlotte has worked for Maersk Oil, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and most recently BlueNord. Her career includes project management of international and multidisciplinary teams with assignments in Denmark, Qatar and Kazakhstan. She holds a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Copenhagen.
Jan Kresten Nielsen
Senior Geoscientist
(BlueNord employee, on full-time loan to CarbonCuts)
Jan is a Senior Geoscientist at CarbonCuts and is responsible for planning and acquiring seismic and performing 3D geological modeling. He has 16 years of experience in subsurface operations and has worked in multidisciplinary projects with fields in production, field development, exploration and business development. He has also performed quality control and management. His experience is primarily from the oil and gas industry in Norway and Denmark, where he has worked for Statoil, VNG Norge, Neptune Energy and most recently BlueNord. Jan holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Copenhagen and has conducted research in geology and biology.
Aymen Abouardini
Wells Manager
Aymen is Wells Manager at CarbonCuts. He has more than 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, of which the last 16 years have been with Shell on projects in Norway, UK, Iraq and most recently Oman. Aymen has extensive experience in on- and offshore projects with well drilling and decommissioning and CCS well design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering and a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
Mikael Dan Frørup
Principal Reservoir Engineer
Mikael is a reservoir engineer and joined CarbonCuts after 30 years with Schlumberger, the world’s largest underground service company. He will help assess the quality of a geological CO2 storage facility on Lolland, both in terms of safety, suitability and capacity. Mikael has worked in Texas, Venezuela, Ecuador and China – and for the past 10 years as a senior reservoir engineer for Schlumberger Production Management based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Houston, USA. Mikael holds a MSc in Chemical Engineering from DTU and a PhD degree.
Pierre Léry
Project Manager
Pierre is the Project Manager for the Ruby CCS project and joined CarbonCuts in November 2024. Based in Copenhagen, Pierre has over 20 years of experience in project management, leadership and engineering, most recently from his position as Head of Projects & Engineering at INEOS Energy Denmark. Pierre was project manager for Greensand’s CO2 injection pilot project, carried out in 2022/2023 offshore Denmark.
Maja Vester
Process engineer
Mogensen Process & CarbonCuts A/S, (external consultant)
Maja, a process engineer at Mogensen Process, joined CarbonCuts in early 2023. She has primarily focused on the conceptual process design of the Ruby project facilities. Maja holds a degree in chemical engineering and international business and an MSc in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. She has performed conceptual and process design of the Ruby facilities using advanced simulation tools from AspenTech software, supported by specialist colleagues at Mogensen Process.
Malene Rod Vest
Field Development Manager
Malene is leading the maturation of the Storage Plan for Project Ruby with responsibility for Subsurface and Wells. With more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, she has held leading roles in subsurface operations, development, implementation and operations, both offshore and onshore. Throughout her career, Malene has worked for Københavns Belysningsvæsen, Maersk Oil, Shell, TotalEnergies and most recently DTU Offshore, including participation in Project Bifrost, which deals with CO2 storage offshore Denmark.
Lars B. Clemmensen
Dr. Scient. and geologist

Lars has worked more than 40 years with sedimentary rocks, including their formation, characterization and reservoir properties. He has a particular focus on Triassic terrestrial deposits, such as fluvial, aeolian and lacustrine sandstones and mudstones. Lars has extensively studied the Bunter Sandstone Formation in Denmark, Germany and the UK and has worked with similar deposits in Greenland. He has published over 100 papers in international journals and has advised several energy companies to increase their reservoir understanding.

Jacqueline Lindmark Boye

Jacqueline joined BlueNord in 2019 and has been Chief Financial Officer since October 2023. She assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of CarbonCuts A/S in June 2024. Jacqueline has over 20 years’ experience in finance and audit in the energy sector in Australia, the UK and Denmark. Prior to joining BlueNord, Jacqueline held various management positions with Shell, AGL Energy, EY and PwC. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University in Australia and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Maj is a geophysicist with over 25 years of experience in the global energy sector. She has held leadership roles focusing on technical quality assurance, guiding major investment decisions, shaping corporate strategy and optimizing organizational structures aligned to the energy and climate agenda. She holds a degree in Geoscience from the IFP School in Paris and the University of Copenhagen and diplomas in Board Leadership from CBS and the INSEAD Executive Management program. She is currently Head of CO2 Storage at Ramboll.
Gonzalo Zambrano Narvaez

Dr. Gonzalo Zambrano Narvaez is a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada, specialized in geophysical energy research. His early contributions in geomechanics focused on geological CO2 storage, particularly on measurement, monitoring and verification (MMV) protocols. Gonzalo is also president and co-founder of GZN Consulting Inc, a Canadian consulting firm that supports national and international organizations engaged in energy systems. He has authored 55 publications and holds one patent. As a member of the CarbonCuts advisory board, he contributes his expertise on MMV-related topics.
